Women & PMDD

An estimated 3 - 8% of women of reproductive age have PMDD.  This number does not account for missed or misdiagnosis nor women whose ovulatory cycle is suppressed by hormonal, chemical, or surgical means. Criteria for diagnosis is set by The American Psychological Association (APA) and The International Society for Premenstrual Disorders (ISPMD).

Women & Suicide

Suicide represents one of the ten leading causes of death worldwide among reproductive age women. Studies also show that an estimated 15% of women with PMDD will commit an act of suicide in their lifetime while a larger percentage experiences thoughts about suicide and self-harm. For every male that dies by suicide, four women attempt it.
